![]() If you prefer free loot from the get-go, Diablo 3 exists. Having incredibly rare items is why Diablo 2 is appealing in the first place. The power and gear necessary would be concentrated in the hands of a few lucky players who would simply snowball their wealth and create a huge disparity in the players. We wouldn't see Hellfire charms common for likely months at a time. And most of that came from a lucky Tal's chest drop. I've been playing this season (and for the first time in nearly a decade) fully legit, and even then, after a full weekend of heavy, nonstop farming, I've managed to farm approximately a Lo rune worth of value. Like it or not, the botters make the entire economy of the game possible. Without it, the maybe 30 people per ladder season who see an actual Jah-Ber drop through legit means would hold the entire region's economy in the palm of their hands. IMO, the botting is an incredibly necessary evil. Even then, some uniques I don't know if I ever saw. I even personally botted very heavily back in the early 2000s and was caught up in the rust storm. I've been playing this game for 20+ years and I don't think I've ever seen a Jah, Ber, Zod, Cham, etc. I know this is gonna be an unpopular opinion, but WHY is it an issue? It's absurdly hard and tedious to gear up as is, even with rampant botting. ![]() Last updated at 14:00:17 UTC Weekly Help Desk RAGE Loot Thread Trade Thread
